o        Managed department which developed, maintained and executed tests, and created testing environment and tools for all products.

o        Manager of team responsible for developing an object-relational repository to support Modeling and Application development tools

o        Designed/implemented the domain validation component of design compiler in Smalltalk and SQL.

·         Ingres Incorporated, 1983-1988

—     Manager of group responsible for running, analyzing, porting and maintaining test suites; certifying beta and production releases of INGRES on VMS, UNIX, VM/CMS and PC’s; providing tests suites to the porting group; and converting tests to work against new releases

—     Original member of  Quality Assurance Group responsible for testing all parts of INGRES.

—     Ran, documented and enhanced existing tests - and ported them to UNIX.

—     Worked on design and implementation of new automated testing environment and tools.

—     Learned VM/CMS and ported test environment and tools there.

—     Trained new Quality Assurance employees in all phases of software quality testing.

—     Managed Phonetic component of demi-syllable synthesis-by-rule project for development of commercial speech synthesis.  Responsible for group of linguists designing recording, extracting, joining and tuning procedures.  Aided in design of development system and rule syntax
